Catharsis.
Although i was tired from a case which zapped up my energy in the late afternoon,
i came home today ....
with the intention to clean up my room.
As i looked at my cluttered table. (yes marie, it's messsy. =p)
i took a black thrash bag from the kitchen.
and i started to throw everything in my sight.
files, readings, letters, books (which i know i will NEVER read).
CDs with i dunno wat in them, old cameras...etc.
initially i thought that it would be hard to discard away these things,
considering the fact that i couldnt throw them away 2 new years ago.
so i just stacked them at the side of my table.
but this year, with a renewed conviction.
i just threw.
threw.
threw.
and threw.
When my mom saw my bags of rubbish she exclaimed
"you mean all that came from your room?!"
i shrugged and continued with the cleaning up of my room.
i threw away a stack of readings from uni which i know i will never touch.
i threw away some youth minutes which i used to take down.
some encouragement cards which i bought to give ppl but never used.
As i cleared my drawers.
i sat down for about a good 30mins to look through cards, letters and notes which ppl wrote to me from the past. I was trying to relish moments when friendship, genuine care and love, patience and encouragement meant a whole lot to me.
and yes shuhei, your handwriting really sucks =p
(as u wrote about them to me in two cards.)
Lil, you loved me then, and u still love me now.
Junhoong, you said i was ur bestest buddy... do u remember? =) And even now in 2008 (you wrote that card to me in 2001!!) we are still best buds. ;)
Eileen, although i know you would never ever read this. but i do thank God for your encouragement when i was in Sec sch and JC. Your cards always light up my a smile on my face when i received them. =)
with a past like that.
it makes the future more bearable,
and it's easier to let go of things which i should.
and to hang on to those which i know will never leave me.
Catharsis of the soul...
